Dog-friendly stay · Rawdon, Lanaudière

Dog-friendly cottage rental in Lanaudière: your companion is welcome

Here, your dog doesn’t stay home. They’re part of the trip.

Picture the first morning: the cottage door opens onto century-old pines, the air smells of resin and lake water, and your companion is already set for adventure. At Domaine Chalets des Pins, your dog enjoys the same 16 hectares you do: trails beneath the pines, the shores of Lac des Pins and our 175-metre fine-sand beach. All about an hour from Montréal.

A flat cleaning fee of $50 + tax per stay, however long you stay. Just one golden rule: on a leash in common areas. The rest is time together.

Why dogs love the Domaine

Real space. Sixteen hectares of private nature: a long walk in the morning, a shorter one before the evening fire, without ever getting back in the car.

Well-spaced cottages. Our four cottages sit well apart from one another. Your dog gets a patch of nature; you get your peace and quiet.

A private, motor-free lake. No motorboats are allowed on Lac des Pins: no engine noise, just the lapping of the water as you stroll along the beach.

Hosts on site. We live on the property with our two children. A question about your companion during your stay? We’re close by.

Four seasons to spoil them

Summer. A morning walk along the beach before the sun gets hot, then a nap in the shade of the pines while you read in an Adirondack chair.

Fall. Lanaudière’s colours, the smell of fallen leaves, the crisp air: it’s often the favourite season of dogs and their humans alike. Back at the cottage, a fire in the fireplace awaits everyone.

Winter. Fresh snow over 16 hectares makes one big playground. Paws dry by the fire, with firewood included in your stay.

Spring. The property wakes up, the days get longer and the trails reappear. Perfect for a quiet getaway, far from the crowds.

Our pet policy, in plain terms

$50 + tax, just once

This flat fee covers the extra cleaning after you leave. One night or one week: same amount, no surprises at checkout.

On a leash in common areas

Your dog is welcome everywhere on the property, including near the lake and on the beach. The leash lets everyone, on two legs or four, enjoy the place in peace.

Let us know when you book

Mention your companion when you book: the fee will be added and we’ll know who’s coming along.

A few good-neighbour rules

  • Keep your dog on a leash in the property’s common areas.
  • Pick up after your dog, on the trails as well as near the cottages and the beach.
  • Quiet after 9 p.m., out of respect for the neighbours and other guests.
  • Take care of the cottage: in case of damage or unusual cleaning, the related costs may be charged, as with any stay.

What to pack for your dog

Our cottages are fully equipped for you. For your dog, bring the essentials:

  • Leash (and a spare, just in case)
  • Poop bags
  • Water and food bowls
  • Food and treats for the length of your stay
  • Their bed or favourite blanket, so they feel at home
  • An old towel for wet or snowy paws
  • Any medication they need
  • A headlamp for the last walk of the evening

Tip: in winter, consider booties or a paw balm to protect their pads.
